For the last 25- plus years we had Tiger Woods & Phil Mickelson rivaling on the golf courses. It was awesome to watch amid steely tension between the two. Those days are securely tucked away in our respective memory banks; they are available to re-visit with a simple click.

Fast forward to today and we have another rivalry in hand between Scottie Scheffler and Xander Schauffele. This one has a lot of potentially epic battles sans the icy relationship.

Xander has two majors on his resume with PGA and Open Championship titles this season alone. Scheffler matched Xander’s Olympic Gold on Sunday in France.

This will be worth watching for the next decade, perhaps longer!

Welcome to the world of sports steaming … and it’s going— actually has already- to yet another level.

As our own Brock Hines aptly points out, NBC’s Peacock is absolutely crushing these 24 Summer Games from Paris.

Once you get over desired events being only on Peacock, you just click and away you go.

Look, the NFL set the bar. Live games are headed to streaming – sooner than not- exclusively because the money is just too good.

We are all becoming phone and tablet junkies and it serves our in and out watching tendencies — especially baseball and soccer which can get a tad tedious.

Start-to-finish viewing resides In Footballville— both college and pro for sure. That is a hard and true fact.

Before too much longer, we are going to look back and chuckle at how we consumed content and will adjust over time.
This is not to say the home set up will change that dramatically- it won’t … except you’ll be synched up to a stream service and will pay the freight with a click.

And be patient with Grandma and Grandpa!

Nice to see Jayson Tatum play and start for USA hoopsters. Steve Kerr has the unenviable task of keeping a lot of massive egos in check. No thanks….

The Yankees streak was quite predictable. Jazz Chisholm, Jr. had a reputation as a “clubhouse lawyer” and has been anything but. 4 homers in his first 3 games in pinstripes an all-time first…

NBC’s ratings — massive as they are— are well-deserved. Excellent coverage and Mike Tirico’s hosting is superb!
Basketball is not fitted for prime time for a good reason: Gymnastics and swimming carries the television torch…

Brazil’s soccer sensation Marta tossed on red card which was the right call bummer that it was…

4 weeks from tonight: Minnesota vs. North Carolina in college football.

Bears and Caleb Williams tonight in Canton. Bears hope it isn’t the last time he goes there!

The TV ratings for NBC’s Olympics coverage are impressive. 28 million for Friday’s Opening Ceremonies.

Until much later will you see basketball in prime time — if at all. Gymnastics and swimming carry the torch …

Deadline looms, but the trades so far are a snooze fest in MLB…

Told ya’, can’t keep the Yankees down!

Mets, meanwhile, cooling a bit…

It might just all come together for the Cleveland Guardians … line up
Is deep and well managed…

Astros aren’t folding and will be a tough out should they make the postseason…

Seattle can’t survive with that offense. Justin Turner is a plus — but they’ll need more; a lot more!

Dream Team? The US Men’s Olympic Basketball team is a nightmare for opponents to try and matchup with.
Serbia hung around for a bit, but had no match on the backboards whatsoever.

Celine Dion… amazing and how inspiring to hear her melodious voice once more!

The U23 Soccer is played at an alarming quick pace. I thought I’d messed with the speed on my phone!?!

The Yankees knocked the Red Sox off their lofty perch over the weekend.
Aaron Judge instills instant fear and Juan Soto is locked in and daunting.
Yankees will make some moves by tomorrow and expect a sizable run.

The Dodgers, meantime, are a mess.
Kershaw and Glasnow are back, but it’s Mookie they need most.

Is it me or is Jayson Tatum looking miserable on the bench for the US
hoopsters?

Bobby Witt, Jr. is a beast. Sadly, his best years will be away from KC. The Royals never hold on to their own.

Bobby Witt, Jr

Alex Cora re-ups for 3 years with the Red Sox… a few skippers around the league were nervous with his impending free agency …

20-7 Rockies over the Red Sox. Ouch.
1-5 road trip to boot.

Mets not only swept the Yankees, they embarrassed them. Aaron Boone has to be nervous.

How big is Georgia-Texas in mid-October? Media crush is off the charts.

Oklahoma hosting Alabama is right there as well.

NFC North should be an incredible close follow this year. Bears will surprise in a good way it says here…

PGA Tour Championship will be anti-climactic; that said, Xander loves the course.

Zayd Hussein covers the Midwest for us at Sports Byline. Emerging young talent!

Let the Games begin!

While Salt Lake City has wrapped up the hosting of the 2034 Winter Olympics, it’s time for task at hand …
Paris 2024…

Really… LeBron James as a flag bearer Friday night? Ah, I love the Coco Gauff appointment, but James is the antithesis of the base Olympic Spirit.
Oh, well…

US Swimmer Katie Ledecky is a must-watch. I’m not ready to say move over Spitz and Phelps … but maybe.

Contributor Tyler LaVigne thinks the U.S. Men’s Hoopsters are not going to bring home gold. He said it on Sports Overnight America.

The U.S. Women sans Caitlyn Clark are a lock. Too bad pettiness keeps CC out…

Simone Biles has my attention and it’ll be worth the watch. Yet, fingers crossed …

The golf will be a can’t miss as well. Xander is ripe from a letdown off The Open Championship.

NBC always – repeat always, does an amazing job. Peacock is here to stay and I love it!
