Still buzzing after the Cleveland Guardians dramatic, perhaps season-saving win last night over the NY Yankees! Gotta’ love October playoff baseball!
So much for the Yankees sweep I suggested just yesterday.
The Mets appeared headed to a “Hey, we had a great season but….”
The fact is the Mets have a nucleus to build upon, yet free agency could see slugger Pete Alonso going elsewhere for crazy money.
Iowa State might be ripe for a struggle Saturday night and here’s why:
Central Florida is a talented team that has underachieved all season. Maybe they’d relish a “spoiler” role and a win over the Cyclones would be exactly that. ISU is very good and the road win at West Virginia was more impressive than it appears. So much so, a letdown scenario is definitely in play.
Weekend: Dodgers clinch; Notre Dame survives Georgia Tech; Alabama springs the upset at Austin; Vikings put a 1 in the loss column.
Illinois vs. Michigan: A Must-Watch Showdown!
By Zayd Hussein
Get ready for an exciting matchup as Illinois takes on Michigan! TheWolverines, fresh off a bye week, come in as 3.5-point favorites, but the Fighting Illini are brimming with confidence after their nail-biting 50-49 overtime win against Purdue. With a solid 5-1 record this season, they’re not to be underestimated.
However, Illinois has a tough blow to overcome. Head coach Bret Bielema has confirmed that star running back Kaden Feagin will miss another game. That’s a significant loss—Feagin has been a standout this season, rushing for 306 yards and three touchdowns, including a stellar 108-yard performance in the opener.
On the other hand, Michigan has been searching for its offensive spark. They currently rank near the bottom of the FBS with just 53 plays that have gained 10 or more yards. They’ll need to step up if they want to keep the Illini in check.
Despite the injury setback, Illinois is firing on all cylinders with a scoring average of 31 points per game, placing them 49th nationally. If they can keep that momentum, scoring over 30 points could be the key to covering that 3.5-point spread.
This game promises to be tightly contested and might just come down to the wire. I’m leaning with the home crowd and team Illinois +3.5 for the win! Get ready for a thrilling clash!
